A blog about things that we all need to freak the hell out about. Technology, college life, music, art, and all general things of nerditure.

Midterms meh
Goddamnit, midterms suck. Got a new console I could be playing, damnit! I guess I shouldn't bitch - other people have it worse. All I've got is a 5 page paper, a brochure, and two exams. But I just realized that Midterms are there for no reason other than to stress you out - a test for the workforce. I realize that because I'm an older student, but it's still a riot seeing the younger students stress to the point of blacking out in the hallways, because they've never endured such stress before.

Winter Classes
I've got a really weird class this semester. Apparently one of the required english classes is different based on what professor is teaching it. Last semester it was Irish Short Stories. Guess what it is this semester?
Vampire Literature.
It's essentially a class that does nothing but analyzes Vampire stories and uses analogies to connect it to other pieces of literature. It's also a class where people do nothing other than yell at Twilight, which gets really old. Yes, I hate that series too - but we've all heard it before.
I guess the point I want to make is instead of bitching about something forever, why not talk about something you like? I guess it's in the essence of man to do such things. On that note:

The Wii
We're having a great time with our new Wii. She's playing Kirby's Epic Yarn, and I'm busy learning the ins and outs of the hardware, if you catch my drift. I didn't know that the storage memory in the Wii had such low capacity - that's troublesome. :(

Valentines Day for dorks
So, I'm a terrible boyfriend. My GF's birthday was last week, and I told her that we'd hold off on a present until Valentines day. That's today, and I still haven't had a chance to get out to the store to get her something. Solution? Red Nintendo Wii. Best part? She loves that idea. I've heard that these things can be modded to put Homebrew on them - which I am dying to try my hand at. Regardless, it comes with Super Mario Anniversary (essentially, Mario Allstars on the SNES). This should go well.
Anyway, Happy V-Day everyone~

What'cha playin'? 2/13/2011
Lately I've been playing a lot of Minecraft.
If you haven't heard of it before, it's definately worth checking out. Essentially, it's legos for adults (well, debatably autistic adults).
What's the purpose of the game? Nothing. You create your own purpose.
Go out and find some materials and build something.
You want a nice little log cabin on the shore of a calm ocean? Better start chopping wood. Hope you made an axe, otherwise it might be tedius.
Want a huge stone castle? Hit the mines and gather up stone - because you're going to need a lot of it.
Pretty much anything you can think of could be built - if you put your mind to it. Unfortunately, that's what the biggest downfall of Minecraft is - if you don't really want to build anything awesome, the game isn't really going to provide much else. You can check it out at http://minecraft.net. There is reportedly a demo available (only classic version), but you're probably going to want to end up getting into the Beta for roughly $15 USD.
Why am I freaking out about it?
This, my friends, is a creeper, and it will scare the unholy crap out of you if you decide to play on anything other than peaceful difficulty. Nothing quite like building that nice castle up, feel like you're being followed, and hearing a "Sssssssss" sound right before this guy kamikaze's you into oblivion. Read up on this game before you play it - otherwise you might have to learn some valuable lessons the hard way.

Site move
Hey guys, I'm sorry that we had to lose the domain name. That's very disappointing. However, there will be new posts and reviews coming soon. We had a dispute with a certain web hosting service that ended with GIFO deciding to no longer use their services. Sorry for any confusion. Thanks for your understanding.
